As founder and president of JHL Company, Rocca and Austin Best Events, Jennifer Stevens built her reputation as a strategic messaging leader through innovation and action. Although her Texas roots run deep, her no-nonsense approach, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and straight-talking charm continues to win accolades from clients around the nation and across the globe.

With more than 20 years of communication strategy, event planning, public relations and public affairs experience, Jennifer is a seasoned expert in building brands, managing campaigns and leading her clients to success.

As vice president of JHL and its sister company, Austin Best Events, Jessica earns the confidence and commitment of countless brands and individuals.

Jessica’s expertise ranges from association management, to event planning and fundraising. Jessica offers nearly 20 years in advocacy and policy positioning. Clients rely on her impeccable attention to detail for not only comprehensive, ingenious message design, but spot-on execution. She easily extracts engaging tactics, including education and special events, fundraising and corporate philanthropy planning. Jessica knows how to lead a brand in aligning giving with marketing goals.

Chief Financial Officer

Jesse uses his 24 years of accounting expertise to guarantee the numbers add up correctly every time. As the chief financial officer for JHL Company and Rocca, he implements operational efficiencies that enhance strategic development, while building the highest client confidence.

A native of San Antonio, Jesse is a graduate of St. Edward’s University in Austin where he received his accounting degree. His love of accounting and commitment to the profession shows in his many years of service and public speaking engagements.

Jesse is the past president of the Austin Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and currently serves on the executive board of the TSCPA as treasurer. He also chairs the TSCPA Austin Chapter CPA-PAC and a member of the TSCPA PAC committee as well as a member of the TSCPA strategic planning committee.

Senior Account Manager

Julia Perkins masters turning projects into strategic plans that benefit the client and their key stakeholders. Whether it’s a major policy announcement, VIP event, tight fundraising deadline or a combination of all three, Julia focuses on tactically positioning her clients to exceed revenue goals through thoughtful messaging and connecting the appropriate audience. However, policy advocates and non-profit organizations know Julia doesn’t simply drop off ideas and plans at the door. She seamlessly folds into their team.

A proud Texas Tech Red Raider, Julia began her career raising money for student-athlete scholarships at Texas Tech University, as the Red Raider Club’s principal membership development and events staff. She designed and executed fundraising events and benefit campaigns reaching thousands of donors.

Account Manager

Anna is the steam that keeps the JHL engine on track. She effortlessly anticipates client and staff needs, while supplying tactful yet pointed reminders that keep things running smoothly. Anna is a project manager extraordinaire and supports the JHL management team by juggling numerous responsibilities, allowing management to focus on product, not process. She focuses on business development and internal brand messaging, and leads JHL’s robust community outreach and volunteer programs. She also coordinates the company’s internship program.

Born and raised in Nashville, Anna moved to Austin after graduating with a degree in strategic communication from Miami University in Ohio. In her free time, Anna loves volunteering, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Communications Account Manager

Claire Grady uses her keen strategic skills and way with words to turn goals into persuasive platforms and ideas into engaging narratives. With a background in journalism, Claire’s gift for storytelling helps her create innovative and unique media pitches, earning her clients a presence in publications, such as The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, The New York Times and Associated Press.

Claire began her career working with clients ranging from food & beverage and lifestyle to Olympic athletes. Today, she quickly immerses herself in a variety of clients’ key messages and tones to build pitch-perfect communication. Her work includes navigating company mergers and acquisitions, often advising and providing support to internal communications teams. She’s also skillfully managed the tricky world of celebrity endorsements, creating environments where both the brand and their ambassador (including extensive media management teams) feel comfortable and confident in their roles.
